The Final Expedition: Help Veteran Adventurer Lonnie Bedwell Reach the North Pole

At Blueline, we’ve always believed stories can shift the way people see the world. Some start small, a single camera, a moment of belief and grow into something much bigger.

For us, one of those stories began with U.S. Navy veteran Lonnie Bedwell.

After losing his sight in a hunting accident, Lonnie taught himself to kayak, then to climb, and then to lead others. He’s climbed the highest peaks on every continent and skied to the South Pole, all without sight. Along the way, he became the first blind kayaker to paddle the Grand Canyon and a mentor to other veterans rediscovering their own strength.

Now, one challenge remains: the North Pole! The final step in his quest to become the first blind person in history to complete the Explorer’s Grand Slam (the Seven Summits + both Poles).

Today, on Veterans Day, our newest client, Common Ground Films, is launching a campaign to help fund Lonnie’s North Pole expedition.

🎯 Goal: $80,000 by January 1 — to cover travel, gear, footage capture, safety logistics, and a small support team to accompany Lonnie on the ice

This isn’t just about finishing an adventure. It’s about showing what’s possible when courage outlasts circumstance.We’re proud to stand beside Common Ground Films in telling this story through Beyond Vision, a feature-length documentary capturing Lonnie’s journey and the lessons he’s taught everyone around him: that vision is far more than sight.
