We’re helping write the final chapter of Lonnie Bedwell’s journey.

Friday, November 7

At Blueline, we believe stories shape how people see one another. That belief now guides a project more meaningful than ever.

Common Ground Films has selected Blueline Pictures to help produce Beyond Vision, a feature length documentary about Lonnie Bedwell, a blind adventurer and Navy veteran from Dugger, Indiana.

Last month, Lonnie completed the Seven Summits, reaching the highest peak on every continent. His final challenge is the North Pole, the last step of the Explorer’s Grand Slam: all seven summits plus both poles.

  • Fewer than a hundred people have ever done it. None of them were blind.

  • Lonnie is on the verge of history.

  • Common Ground Films needs your help to capture the final journey.

Back in 2017, Blueline produced the award-winning short film Feel of Vision which focused on Lonnie’s kayaking trip down the Grand Canyon and how he helps other blind and disabled veterans learn to do the same. Feel of Vision was just a taste of the inspiration Lonnie is bringing to others. Since that short film Lonnie has taken his message around the globe and continues to inspire people abroad and at home in Indiana.

From now until the end of the year, Common Ground Films is raising funds to:

  • Send Lonnie to the North Pole

  • Capture this final chapter on film

  • Move Beyond Vision into full post-production

For those who are able, we’d encourage you to support Lonnie’s journey and the upcoming film. For those who are unable to contribute financially, letting others know about Lonnie and his message is just as valuable to his mission.

Common Ground Films will share behind-the-scenes updates, production insights, and real stories from the field in the coming weeks so be sure to follow along.

Thank you for standing with storytellers who believe film can build understanding, one story at a time.

Warmly,

The Blueline Team

P.S. If this story moves you, help us get Lonnie to the Pole. Share the story. Invite a friend. Or make a gift through DONATE to bring this expedition and this film to life.
