How Sungrow and Blueline Built a Content Partnership That Lasts

From First Project to Trusted Partner

In 2018, Sungrow North America, one of the world’s leading suppliers of solar inverters, contracted Blueline for what was then a simple, one-off job: to film a video documenting the installation of Sungrow inverters in a remote solar field. Due to construction setbacks, the one-day shoot stretched multiple days in 100 degree heat. In spite of the challenges, Blueline delivered crisp visuals and authentic storytelling that brought Sungrow’s technology to life.

What began as a one-time engagement quickly evolved. Over the next several years, Sungrow North America doubled and then tripled in size. As the company grew, its communication needs scaled in kind—more product launches, more internal updates, more external storytelling. Sungrow needed a partner to match its evolving pace, scale, and brand voice. Blueline was honored to rise to the challenge and transition from vendor to year-round, embedded creative partner.

Today, Sungrow retains Blueline to pitch, produce, and deliver full calendars of content that resonate across platforms, audiences, and formats. And here’s how they do it!

"I have hired Blueline for projects nearly eight years at multiple organizations and have never experienced an iota of dissatisfaction with their team. Their pragmatic approach to client relations makes all the difference. As a client of the Blueline team, you will feel like a VIP whether working on a small or massive project. The organization prioritizes investment in their technology, familiarization with the most current video production trends while carrying zero ego that you may find in a typical New York or LA based agency.

Blueline-created content has revolutionized my marketing platform and continues to do so in a big way. They have become a part of my Company's 'family' and are well known and loved to even our CEO/Chairman. The dynamic nature of their staff: Tucker Gragg, Hunter Atkins etc. provides peace of mind in what would usually be among the most stressful of marketing activities.

The Deliverables Menu:
Planning a Year of Strategic Content

Each calendar year begins with a curated Deliverables Menu, a tailored offering of content ideas, production strategies, and distribution suggestions. This menu blends three key ingredients:

  • Sungrow’s strategic messaging objectives

  • Sungrow’s preferred working style and timing cadence

  • Blueline’s own creative ideas to keep content fresh, forward-thinking, and brand-aligned

Once presented, Sungrow’s internal marketing team collaborates with Blueline to refine the proposed deliverables, customizing each to upcoming events, product milestones, and evolving priorities. The advantages of this system are numerous:

  • Clarity from day one, with both teams aligned on goals and timelines

  • Flexibility to adapt as new deliverables are added or adjusted mid-year

  • Efficiency, as Blueline can schedule shoots and edits proactively instead of reactively

  • Consistent brand evolution, without the guesswork

A-Roll Library:
A Searchable Vault of Insight

For major projects—especially those involving interviews—Blueline goes a step further by building a searchable A-Roll Library. This is a carefully organized database of sound bites and talking points sourced from all recorded interviews.

The result?

  • On-demand access to key messages, quotes, and product explanations.

  • Rapid turnaround for micro-content, social clips, or last-minute presentation needs.

  • Longevity—footage shot for a 2023 video can still provide value in 2025.

By thinking like archivists, Blueline empowers Sungrow’s team to mine their own material for messaging gold, again and again.

Photography: A Content Workhorse

Photography is a natural and high-impact add-on to nearly any video shoot. Sungrow relies on Blueline to provide a photo package that covers a wide range of needs:

  • Employee headshots for internal and external use,

  • Product photos for datasheets and presentations,

  • Culture and team shots to humanize the brand,

  • Behind-the-scenes images that double as rapid-fire social content.

Blueline’s hybrid photo-video approach means Sungrow maximizes every on-location opportunity, generating stills and motion content in tandem without added hassle.

Event Coverage: Capturing More Than Just the Moment

Whether it’s a product launch, trade show, or company-wide summit, Blueline helps Sungrow transform events into long-lasting content assets.

The strategy is smart: When Sungrow’s national team is gathered in one place, Blueline sets up a creative and modular interview station. There, they capture a range of voices and topics.

This material becomes the backbone of a content ecosystem that serves Sungrow year-round:

  • Recap videos for social and internal comms,

  • Product explainers featuring multiple speakers,

  • Thought Leadership sound bites for press or recruitment,

  • And more—often drawn from a single day of shooting.

Brand Partner Videos:
Representing Sungrow in the Field

One of Blueline’s most trusted roles is creating Brand Partner Videos—content pieces produced on behalf of Sungrow but filmed at the sites of Sungrow’s partners.

These videos spotlight mutual, B2B collaboration and success. And they do so with diplomacy and polish. Sungrow trusts Blueline to:

  • Travel nationwide (and sometimes globally),

  • Navigate tricky schedules, unexpected weather, evolving site conditions,

  • Represent the brand with professionalism and tact in front of partners, clients, and stakeholders.

Importantly, Blueline makes the process collaborative. Drafts are reviewed by both Sungrow and the partner company, ensuring that everyone is represented thoughtfully and accurately. At the end of the project, Blueline provides the partner with a copy of the footage and interviews—creating shared value and deepening the relationship on both sides.

Conclusion: A Model for Modern Content Creation

What began as a single shoot in a solar field has matured into a model of modern content collaboration. Sungrow does not just hire a video vendor—they hire Blueline to be an embedded creative engine, one that works in sync with their marketing team to tell stories year-round.

In a digital landscape where content is both king and constant, Sungrow’s ongoing partnership with Blueline proves that the smartest approach isn’t just to make more—it’s to make it memorable, together.
